There's a quieter way
The promise

Stillr isn’t another app to addto your day. It’s a quiet layer that removes the noise — so your attention, your sleep, and your hours come back to you.

Designed to disappear

We measure success by the minutes you don't think about your phone — not the minutes you spend inside our app.

No dark patterns

No streaks. No guilt-trip notifications. No FOMO mechanics. Stillr is the launcher that genuinely wants to be used less.

Yours alone

No accounts. No personal data. Your settings, schedules, and preferences live on your device — never on a server tied to you.

How it works

Three steps,
under two minutes.

No setup wizard. No tutorials. No accounts. Install, set as default, pick a look — Stillr starts working immediately.

STEP 01

Install Stillr

Free download from the Play Store. ~3 MB. No account required.

STEP 02

Set as default launcher

Open Stillr — it offers to be your default home screen. One tap. Switch back any time from Settings → Apps → Default apps.

STEP 03

Pick a theme — and breathe

Choose from nine themes — six solids, three wallpapers. Set your stillness windows. The phone gets out of your way.

01 · Home Screen

A home screen that
doesn’t shout.

Just the time, the date, and the apps you actually open. No icons begging for attention. No notification dots. No widgets clamoring for a tap.

  • Time, date, and a typeset list of pinned apps.
  • Screen-time indicator at the bottom — see today's usage at a glance.
  • Bottom dock for the four essentials: Phone, Messages, Browser, Camera.
  • Tap to launch. Long-press to manage (rename, hide, block, set a reminder).
In practice
You unlock your phone. The home screen shows 10:43 AM, Wednesday 6th May, and seven apps. Nothing else moves.
WhyIcons are designed to grab attention. Text isn't. Replacing the icon grid with a calm list removes the visual pull that drives 80% of mindless unlocks.

02 · App Drawer

Every app, one
keystroke away.

A clean, alphabetized list of every app on your phone. Search by typing, jump by letter — no swiping through pages of icons hunting for the one you want.

  • Search bar pulls from every installed app — start typing, the list filters live.
  • Alphabetical order that never reshuffles. Apps stay where you remember them.
  • Right-side A–Z scrubber for fast jumps across the alphabet.
  • Notifications and Settings shortcuts pinned to the top — no buried menus.
In practice
Open the drawer, type 'ca', and Calendar surfaces before you finish typing the second letter.
WhySearch beats spatial memory on a 9-by-4 icon grid every time. And unlike icons, a text list never tempts you to open something you didn't come for.
Stillr drawer screen
03 · In-App Reminders

Set a time. Get
a gentle nudge.

Tap any app, pick how long you want to spend, and choose what happens when time runs out — a quiet notification, a 60-second pause, or an automatic close. Configure once per app, never think about it again.

  • Pick a duration in one tap: 1m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 20m, 30m, 45m, 1h — or set your own.
  • Three end-of-time behaviors: Gentle Reminder (notification), Mindful Pause (60-second cooldown), Auto Exit (closes the app).
  • Per-app tracking — opt only the apps that matter into the limit.
  • Smart Detection keeps the timer accurate without draining battery.
In practice
Open YouTube → pick 20m → choose Mindful Pause. When the timer hits zero, a 60-second pause asks: do you actually want to keep going?
WhyThe timer dialog is the moment of choice; the pause is the moment of reflection. Two small frictions that turn autopilot scrolling into a conscious decision.

04 · Long-press Menu

Manage any app
without leaving home.

Long-press any app — on the home screen or in the drawer — to pin, rename, organize, hide, block, set a reminder, or uninstall. Every action one menu away.

  • Pin / Unpin from Home — choose exactly what your home screen shows.
  • Edit name — rename Twitter to 'X', or just 'social'. Yours to call what you want.
  • Move to folder — group apps by purpose, not alphabet.
  • Hide app — tuck noisy ones behind the drawer search.
  • Block app — start a focus sprint (1h to 21d) right from this menu.
  • In-App Reminder toggle — flip on a time limit for this app, this moment.
  • Delete app — uninstall without leaving the launcher.
  • App details — jump straight to Android system info.
In practice
Long-press Calendar → tap 'Hide app'. It disappears from home and drawer until you search for it. Two seconds, no settings screen.
WhyOne menu, every action. The launcher is the control panel — no digging through Settings → Apps → ... → done.

Questions

Answers, plainly.

Ten of the questions we get most. Anything we missed is one email away — the address is in the footer.

Yes. Stillr is a one-time purchase on the Play Store — no subscriptions, no recurring fees. We charge for the app so we never have to make money from your attention. That means no ads, no upsells, and no data collection. Ever.

No personal data. Stillr never asks for your name, email, contacts, or location, and your settings live on-device. We do collect anonymous crash and usage analytics through Google Firebase to fix bugs and improve the app — these can't identify you. You can opt out of analytics in app settings. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Yes. When you set Stillr as your default launcher, it replaces your phone's stock home screen and app drawer. You can switch back at any time from Android Settings → Apps → Default apps. Your apps, files, and data stay exactly where they are — only the home screen changes.

Only what's needed for the features to work: Usage Access (to track app time for limits and reminders) and optionally Notification Access (for Smart Detection). Stillr never asks for contacts, location, microphone, camera, or anything else.

Yes. Stillr works on any device running Android 7.0 or later. On heavily customized OEM Androids (One UI, HyperOS, OxygenOS), the launcher swap is identical — Android handles the default-launcher API consistently across brands.

Stillr supports Android 7.0 (Nougat) and above. It works on phones, tablets, and most foldables.

No. Stillr is built to be lightweight and battery-conscious. Background processes only run when needed — during scheduled stillness windows, sleep mode, or active app limits. There's no constant background polling.

Like any Android app: long-press the Stillr icon and pick Uninstall, or go to Settings → Apps → Stillr → Uninstall. Your phone reverts to whichever launcher you had before. Nothing leaves with you because nothing was ever collected.

Yes. Stillr offers nine themes — six solid colours plus three wallpaper-backed looks — and 15 typefaces. Make it look exactly the way you want.

Not yet. Stillr is currently Android-only. iOS is on our roadmap — but Apple's restrictions on launcher replacement make it a meaningfully different product, so we want to do it right.

One step

Reclaim the quiet. Tonight.

No ads. No personal data. No subscriptions. A one-time purchase that pays for itself the first night you actually rest.
